Kira Schneider, L.Ac., Dipl. OM
Licensed Acupuncturist & Herbalist
Kira Schneider is a NCCAOM board certified acupuncturist and herbalist based in Princeton, New Jersey. She earned her Masters of Science in Traditional Chinese Medicine from the Pacific College of Health and Science in New York City, where she graduated top of her class. Over the duration of her 4.5 year enrollment at Pacific College, Kira completed more than 4,000 hours of coursework, split evenly between Traditional Chinese Medicine, Chinese Herbal Medicine, and Western Biomedicine courses. Her clinical training included weekly patient care at Pacific College’s on-site acupuncture clinic, as well as additional clinic hours at Kamwo Grand Meridian Health, the oldest Chinese Herbal Medicine pharmacy on the East Coast. Throughout her training, Kira was continually inspired by Chinese Medicine’s holistic and individualized approach to care. In addition to acupuncture and herbal medicine, Kira is also trained in adjunct therapies such as Gua Sha, Cupping, Moxibustion, Electro-Stimulation Acupuncture, Auricular Acupuncture, and Tui Na.
Kira’s Chinese Medicine journey began in childhood, shaped by the quiet influence of her maternal grandparents who had immigrated from China and her mother, who instilled in her a deep appreciation for traditional wisdom and Chinese cultural philosophy. Her grandmother, who had managed diabetes from a young age, taught Kira that food is medicine and emphasized the importance of living in balance with nature — lessons that laid the foundation for Kira’s lifelong values.
It wasn’t until years later, after earning a business degree and working in corporate marketing and brand management, when Kira’s health took an unexpected turn. She was diagnosed with a debilitating autoimmune and neurological condition that left her unable to walk. After navigating a long, painful road of conventional treatment and pharmaceutical interventions, Kira ultimately turned to Chinese Medicine to reclaim her health and address the root of her illness. Upon experiencing the profound healing power of acupuncture and herbal medicine firsthand, Kira felt deeply called to share this medicine with others navigating their own healing journeys.
Chinese Medicine didn’t just help Kira recover — it brought her back to her true self. At her core, Kira is an empath. Having endured a rare and life-altering illness, she can truly empathize with her patients, meeting each person with compassion, presence, care, and most of all, respect for their unique path.
Kira believes no two patients are alike. Every treatment is thoughtfully tailored to the individual, rooted in the principles of Chinese Medicine and informed by careful listening. Her specialties include women’s health, insomnia, anxiety and depression, digestive disorders, autoimmune conditions, and pain management. If your concerns lie outside these areas, don’t worry — Chinese Medicine is a comprehensive system capable of addressing a wide range of health issues. Nothing is off the table!
When she is not treating patients or immersed in ancient textbooks, Kira enjoys spending time with her husband in downtown Princeton, cuddling her cat and dog, practicing yoga, reading, and studying Vedic Astrology.
